Virginia High School Student Punished for Wearing Lesbian T-Shirt

The American Civil Liberties Union is demanding an apology from a Virginia high school for punishing a student who wore a lesbian t-shirt to class. I.C. Norcom High School officials threatened the 17-year-old senior with suspension for wearing a shirt featuring an image of two overlapping female gender symbols.

Anti-gay Activist Jerry Falwell Dead at 73

He blamed gays and lesbians for the 9/11 terrorist attacks and made himself a household name by claiming Teletubbie Tinky Winky was gay. Now, the founder of the Moral Majority, the Rev. Jerry Falwell, is dead at 73. At a live press conference held moments ago, a doctor confirmed Falwell had died of of 'cardiac arrhythmia, or sudden cardiac death.'

Virginia Episcopal Parishes Vote to Break from U.S. Church Over Gay Stance

Two large Episcopal parishes in Viginia voted to split from the U.S. Episcopal Church Sunday, drawing the latest line in the denomination’s controversial divide over its ordination of a gay bishop. The two churces voted to join the conservative Convocation of Anglicans in North America organization, which is linked to the Episcopal Church of Nigeria.

The city council hasapproved previous applications for other home massage businesses, leading applicant Howard Daniel and his supporters to suspect discrimination.

Virginia Gay Marriage Ban Advocates Seek Support From Minority Church Leaders

Conservative groups pushing for the passage of a constitutional ban on gay marriage in Virginia are asking leaders of the state’s minority churches for their support. 'African-American churches and social conservatives have more in common in our belief system than anyone could imagine,' Chris Freund, of the Family Foundation, told a group of mostly black and Latino ministers last month at Pat Robertson's Regent University.

Falwell Bans Virginia Activist Group from University

The Rev. Jerry Falwell has once again become a thorn in the gay community’s side by banning an ancivist group of gay rights advocates from appearing at his Conservative Christian Liberty University. University spokesmen would not say whether the activists would be arrested if they went onto the private college's property for a rally.
